Message Notes:

“You Have A Choice”

The Faces In The Crowd

There were the curious observers, the contentious nonbelievers, and the committed followers.

A Question To Consider

Have I made the choice to go from a curious observer to a committed follower of Jesus?

18 “Listen then to what the parable of the sower means: 19 When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown along the path. 20 The seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. 21 But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. 22 The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful. 23 But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it.

(Matthew 13:18-23)

16 Just then a man came up to Jesus and asked, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?”  17 “Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.”  18 “Which ones?” he inquired.  18 Jesus replied, “‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, 19 honor your father and mother,’ and ‘love your neighbor as yourself.’”. 20 “All these I have kept,” the young man said. “What do I still lack?”  (Matthew 19:16-20)

“Following Christ is not a casual or occasional practice but a continuous commitment and way of life that applies at all times and in all places.”
